Although central Newfoundland did not suffer the same fate as those communities affected by "Snowmageddon" in Newfoundland in January 2020, Gander did get 116 cm of snow in January 2020 and approximately 70 more in February. That likely made it a difficult year for moose but I did see quite a few surviving on young trees and shrubs sticking up out of the snow. This one had plenty to eat, and appeared quite healthy, but trudging through the snow still made it a difficult task.
