Fishing at the Cottage

This photograph was taken at my extended family's cottage, on Limerick Lake, ON. One of my foundational experiences of 'being Canadian' involved the yearly trek from metropolitan Toronto, when visiting family, to cottage country Ontario—the importance of which was not lost on me despite growing up in rural, Western Canada. Here, I have tried to capture the joys of long summer days fishing, boating, and sharing time with family in that location from a different vantage. I especially like that you can see the sunken dock underneath the water, which—though no longer in use—provides a home for bass and other fish species that populate it in abundance.
