When animals went ashore millions of years ago, they carried with them a part of the sea, as they adapted and took up life on land. This part of the ocean has been passed on, and even today links animals to the origins in the ancient oceans of the world. All creatures carry the salt of the ocean in our bloodstream, which reminds us that without the oceans, life on land would not have existed.
