We were on our way to visit friends who live near Stoughton, Sk around Christmas a few years ago, after a few days of the perfect combination of no wind, moisture, and warm temperatures created spectacular hoar frost.... probably the best I've ever seen in my life. Somehow, I managed to take this shot out the truck window going 100 km down the highway! I love how the bright blue sky, the orange of the elevator and the white create great contrast. A perfect representation of a Prairie winter and a slowly (and sadly) disappearing/changing way of life.
