Sweet Dreams Bumblee Bee

I was out for a walk down out back road one beautiful late spring morning and spied this Bumblee Bee who seemed to be the only one to hit the Jackpot with a large patch of just blooming wild roses in the ditch. It must have been exhausting, but he found the perfect spot for a nap! I think it fits this category well - I remember at the time thinking that we hardly see any bumble bees around and wondering where its' buddies were, hoping it would make it back to the hive. Recently I have ready several articles in the Western Producer about the impact insecticides, pesticides and other chemicals have had on many species of bee - never mind parasites and invasive species such as Murder Hornets, lol. They are a critical part of many ecosystems and I was lucky this wonderful specimen was around for me to get such a good shot!
