The Upper Barn was built in the late 1800s and stayed in continual use until the 1990s. Now only the foundation stands as a symbol of the rise and fall of small family farming operations. Luckily, the land has stayed in the family. Its use has changed from pasteur fields to a space for planting trees. The individual rocks which make up the foundation are also markers of change. They are beautiful reminders of the geological processes which shaped the region long before our arrival.
