"Pickerel River Outlet Rapids I" by Debbie Oppermann. The Pickerel River is a tributary of the French River Ontario Canada and some areas were greatly affected by the very large Parry Sound Forest Fire 33 in 2018. When motoring down the Pickerel River outlet in our motorboat we eventually got to the last area where the forest fire was finally extinguished. In this section we could venture no farther as the rapids and cascades were just around the corner. We had no idea that they were there and couldn't hear the rushing water until we stopped to take a break, could have been caught and pulled down. The river is very high this year and this enabled us to venture further as it would normally be inaccessible with a motorboat. This area is part of the forest fire of Parry Sound Fire 33, 2018. It's a beautiful, rugged remote area and the river eventually flows to Georgian Bay.
